Booking The Village Hall
Click on our Bookings Diary page to check that your preferred date(s) and times are available, and then email our Bookings Clerk at kvh8437@gmail.com giving details of date(s), times, type of booking, and what the booking is for. The Bookings Clerk will check the slot is available, and may need to discuss your potential booking with you, and ask various questions. If it looks ok, the Bookings Clerk will then generate a Hire Agreement and Standard Conditions of Hire document and will email this to you together with associated documents and your invoice, giving you a time scale in which to complete and return the Hire Agreement and pay the invoice.
Please note that we require full payment of the invoice up front (for parties, the invoice will include a refundable damages bond). The booking cannot be confirmed by the Clerk until they have received the signed Hiring Agreement, (both you and the Bookings Clerk need to sign it), and we have received full payment of the invoice from you. The Bookings Clerk will also email you associated documents which form part of the Hire Agreement, appropriate to your type of booking, which you must read.

Sale of alcohol, and music after 11pm - if you are intending to run a licensed bar at your event, or have music after 11pm, please discuss this first with the Bookings Clerk. The village hall is not licensed for the sale of alcohol, and we do not have a premises licence. We are limited to the number of Temporary Event Notice Licences (TENS) available for the year.
Cancellations - in the event of you having to cancel your booking, we will operate a sliding scale for repayment:
• If you give us at least a months notice we will give you a full refund
• If you give us two weeks notice we will give you a 50% refund
Payment - we accept payments by bank transfer, cheque or cash – details of how to pay will be shown on your invoice.
Hourly Booking Rates

Wedding reception rates - rates for hire of the whole building (excluding the Snooker Room) for an extended period over a weekend eg for a wedding reception, are negotiable – please contact the Booking Clerk to discuss.
When making any type of booking, remember that your hire time needs to include both your setting up time at the start of your session, and your clearing up/cleaning time at the end - we suggest you factor in a minimum of 15 minutes before and 15 minutes after your particular activity. For setting up/clearing up etc before and after parties, these periods will need to be longer.
Cleaning the hall
We employ a cleaner, but to keep hire costs down for everyone, we also operate on a self cleaning basis, so that the building is left clean for the next hirer who comes in. We expect all hirers to ensure that as well as putting equipment away and tidying up, that you clean up after your session. Please read our Cleaning Responsibilities for Hirers document.
