Facilities

We have a large main hall, a meeting room, a well equipped kitchen and bar area, and snooker room.

Each room can be hired separately, and for larger events you can book exclusive use of the whole hall (apart from the Snooker Room).

Chairs and tables are available free of charge and are stored on trolleys, making it easy to move them around the building. We have comfortable folding metal chairs which can be linked together to form an auditorium layout, very comfortable arm chairs for use in the Memorial Room, large rectangular tables, medium round tables, and small tables.

The hall is accessible to wheelchair users and those with limited mobility. We have a disabled toilet.

Main Hall

The main hall with its large gable window provides scenic views across the Meadow towards the church and Church Street, and has a semi sprung wooden floor, making it ideal for social and sporting activities. It has been designed to meet Sport England Recreational Badminton Standards. It has two serving hatches from the kitchen and bar area. The Main Hall is heated by an air source heat pump that provides warm air.  The air handling system filters the air as it circulates and it can also provide filtered fresh air.  Should the building get too hot, it can also act as an air conditioner to cool it down.  An array of solar panels on the south facing roof helps run the system in daylight hours.

The Main Hall lends itself to a multitude of uses; as well as badminton and carpet bowls there is plenty of room for exercise classes, personal exercise, and dance practice; children's parties; formal sit down receptions and more informal gatherings, dances, and parties; and in close seated audience layout for presentations, and drama productions. We also have a versatile modular demount-able stage (total of 20.25sq metres) which can be used in a variety of sizes and layouts.
